一项 Purina 研究比较了采用 ICR 减重计划的肥胖猫与采用持续卡路里限制 (CCR) 减重计划的肥胖猫。从每月结果来看，各组之间的脂肪和体重下降率并无差异。由于 ICR 组的猫仅在每月的一半时间内受到能量限制，这表明其能量消耗要高于 CCR 组的猫。1
