Immune Complex-Mediated Glomerular Disease in Cats and Dogs

Veterinary medicine is continuing to advance its understanding of the underlying causes, pathophysiology, diagnostics, and clinical implications of immune complex-mediated glomerulonephritis (ICGN) in dogs and cats. A common cause of proteinuria in companion animals, ICGN is thought to be secondary to an underlying disease, even though a causative antigen often is not identified.

In this session, Dr. Jessica Hokamp reviews glomerular anatomy and physiology, mechanisms of glomerular damage, appropriate diagnostics and diagnostic features of ICGN, and promising, minimally invasive biomarkers.
