Chronic enteropathies in canine and feline patients often pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges for veterinary practitioners. Recent advances in understanding the intestinal microbiome of dogs and cats are enabling the use of nutritional strategies and novel therapies such as fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT).

Dr. Busch will discuss nutritional recommendations that should be tried before pursuing FMT for chronic enteropathy cases, as well as an FMT protocol.
