How Old (and Healthy) Is Your Patient, Really?

Aging is the most important risk factor for disease. The good news is that targeted nutrition can influence the hallmarks of aging. In the not-too-distant future, biological clocks developed by Nestlé Purina scientists may provide veterinarians with tools they can use to detect how and when aging occurs in dogs and cats. The information can then be used to recommend dietary and lifestyle changes—and monitor the response to interventions—that promote a healthy lifespan for pets.
